Buenos Aires, April 2 (NA) – A man with a firm 10-year prison sentence for sexually abusing his stepdaughter has been arrested in the Merlo district of Buenos Aires Province. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the perpetrator repeatedly attacked the daughter of his ex-partner until 2012 in their shared home in Villa 31, in the Retiro neighborhood, when the victim was between 9 and 10 years old and was in primary school. The National Oral Criminal and Correctional Court No. 29 handed down the sentence in 2019. The guilty party appealed in various instances until, in September 2025, the Supreme Court of Justice ratified the verdict, at which point the aggressor went on the run. In this context, agents from the City Police's Division of Crimes against Sexual Integrity located the fugitive in Merlo, in the western part of the Conurbano, where they carried out his arrest, with personnel from the Morón DDI, after analyzing payments made with a virtual wallet in a store. The arrest was made at the intersection of Cucha Cucha and José Martí streets, and he is already at the disposal of the intervening magistrate and will begin to serve the sentence imposed against him.
